The cost of a funeral in Latvia depends on the services chosen, the kind of ceremony and individual wishes. We always prepare a detailed estimate before any work begins, so that you have a clear picture of everything it will cost.
The death certificate is issued by the registry office once the death has been registered. To obtain it you need to submit the medical certificate of the cause of death issued by a medical institution or a doctor, together with the applicant’s identity document. The documents of the deceased should also be submitted if they are available.
After a death, the first step is to call the emergency medical service or the family doctor so that the death can be certified. You can then contact a funeral home, which will help arrange transport of the deceased, the paperwork and the funeral itself.
